What is Strategy?

It consists of what would make a particular organization different by providing a competitive advantage, basically competition is destructive when companies are competing in the same thing, that forces competition to gravitate to price. Strategy is finding a different way to compete creating a different value for the consumer allowing the company to prosper and achieve superior profitability.

Simply implementing best practices, buying the latest machines, using the internet and social media to communicate with customers etc. These are all just basic necessities but not strategy; strategy is not to do the same but better. Strategy is to find a different place for the organization to value, the challenge is to do both things at the same time and be clear where to make the difference with the other competitors in my category.
